A clan is a tightly bound group of adventurers that have banded together due to friendship, similar interests, or just for fun.
Clans generally form a structure of support for their fellow clan members offering assistance, protection, offense, and grouping for experience, equipment, and conversation. Clans unite under a single banner, enjoying the privileges of an exclusive clan house and intra-clan communication.
Clans are usually run by one or more powerful characters. The leaders of a clan have the power to enroll and dismiss characters from the clan fellowship. Any immortal staff that is a member of a clan has full leadership privileges.
Clans may have up to 10 ranks with titles chosen by the owner. A clan badge will appear beside the name and title of a clan member on the who list unless they choose to hide it with the CLANHIDE command.
All clan content is customizable at the convenience of the immortal in charge of clans and houses. Contact Wish by mudmail for clan requests.

Choose wisely; joining a clan that is at war with a clan your friends are in can be problematic, seek a clan from which you can form the best bond.
After determining which clan you are interested in, contact the clan leaders and express that interest. Also spend time with the members of the clan, as some clans vote on who can be admitted. Prove your worth, avoid being a pest, and have fun.

If you are simply too cool to bother with preexisting clans, you can attempt to form your own. A clan war is a pkilling conflict between two more or clans over just about anything. Clan wars have sparked over strutting rights and civil war within a clan. These wars tend to appear swiftly and end just as swiftly. Relatively few people usually die, just enough for the stronger clan to make its point.
