Attributes

Attributes1 are the essence of a character. Without them we could not perform or grow well enough to survive in the harsh Tempus environment.
There are a total of six attributes: strength, intelligence, wisdom, dexterity, constitution, and charisma.
Attributes is also a command to get a rough estimate of your current2 strength, intelligence, wisdom, dexterity, constitution, and charisma values.

Strength is a measure of a character's muscle, endurance, and stamina. Warrior classes, such as Knights and Barbarians, live and die by their strength. Strength is also still very important to non-warrior classes. Your strength determines how much equipment you can wear and carry and the maximum weight of the weapon you can wield. A character with a high strength has a better chance of successfully landing a blow in a fight and will deal out more damage if they do.

Intelligence represents a character's memory, reasoning, and learning ability. Intelligence is the prime requisite for Mages, who depend on their ability to comprehend complex spells and cast them at will. A high intelligence enables a character to learn new skills and spells with less effort. It also increases combat effectiveness.

Wisdom describes a composite of a character's enlightenment, judgement, common sense, and intuition. It affects a character's resistance to magical attack and how many life points they receive each level. Wisdom is important to all characters but most important to Clerics and Rangers.

Dexterity encompasses hand-eye coordination, agility, reflexes, and balance. Dexterity affects a character's reaction speed to attacks and accuracy when attacking. Dexterity is important to all characters, but to Thieves and Mages especially.

Constitution encompasses a character's physique, fitness, and health. A high constitution score increases a character's resistance to injury and disease by allowing the character to gain hit points at a greater rate. Barbarians and Cyborgs are both heavily dependant on constitution.

Charisma is the attribute that measures a character's persuasiveness, magnetism, ability to lead, and outward beauty. It is important to characters to try to lead others, especially by force or magic. Bards are particularly affected by charisma considering the nature of their job. Charisma also affects how you interact with shops and other characters that sell services like language masters. The higher your charisma, the lower the cost of buying and higher you can sell things for.
When trying to decide what attribute to train first, remember that the higher wisdom you have the more life points you gain per level. So training your wisdom first is always a good thing to do. After that go by what helps your class the best. Mana based classes should max their intelligence and so on.

2Your current attributes are described by the suffix (augmented). This is different than your actual attributes which not marked with (augmented). For example, you may be "fairly strong" then wear +strength equipment and then be "very strong (augmented)".
