Knight:

Knights are a well-rounded class in terms of overall combat and spell-casting aptitudes. Worshiping either the God of Justice, Alron, or the God of War, Veloth, knights call upon their deities, via holy symbols, to access their arsenal of magical abilities. While knights of Alron specialize in defensive and healing magic, knights of Veloth are more adept at damage-type spells.
Note: Knights of Veloth have the opportunity to sell their soul, which allows them to attain a higher level of destructive power as they cast aside their goodness. This power comes at a price, however.

Pros:

* Shield Mastery allows knights to defend themselves much more skillfully than other classes when using a shield.
* Knights are well-rounded in terms of combat and defense, making them viable group or solo characters.
* Geared properly, a knight can be a damage-dealing, parrying fighter, or a damage-mitgating, defensive "tank."

Cons:

* Reliance on a holy symbol calls for multiple equipment changes throughout leveling.
* Skills such as lunge punch and behead often require a free hand, or a weapon change during combat.
* Knights are very gear-dependent: without hitroll and damroll, they cannot fight, while without armor class or a shield, they cannot defend. Without a holy symbol, they cannot cast magic.

Remorting:

Regardless of which type of knight (good or evil), secondary classes that support their play-style are a boon to success. If the knight is lacking in offense, a melee-type class (mercenary, borg, etc.) is a great addition. If the knight lacks defensive measures, a supportive, caster-type class (psionic, physic, etc.) is also a good choice. Find out which class combination suits you!

Once you finally reach the coveted Generation 1, and start to rise in gen's you will start to receive a few other spells that you didn't have before.

Also if you are evil at Generation 6 you will have a choice to sell your soul and become soulless. You will have to give up some money and constitution. But you gain the ability to wear EQ from hell and not be hunted. Also your spells get an extra damage boost.
